THE State House of Assembly has renewed the tenure of transition committee chairmen in the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the state for three months.
The House extended their tenure to three months at the committee of the whole during yesterday’s plenary.
According to the speaker, Mrs Rita Maduagwu, the House extended their tenure in line with the local government law, following a letter was written to that effect by the State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano.
The lawmaker noted that the extension will give the chairmen opportunity to do more for their council areas.
She said the caretaker chairmen performed well within their limited resources, adding that there were no petitions against them to warrant their removal.
