Beauty of Africa International Pageant (BAIP), a continental pageant platform in Nigeria, has kicked off its campaign for 2018.
The international organising committee made the announcement at a world press conference which was held lasted Saturday . Themed, Ambassador for Tourism, Peace and Friendship, this year’s edition, according to Mr Kenneth Ighofalo, the Marketing Consultant, will be organised in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture and will attract 20 million guests.
He said: “BAIP’s 12th edition promises to be explosive as it is in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Information & Culture. As expected, this year’s edition, will attract an audience of more than 20 million persons, at the pre-event, press conferences, camping and grand finale which will play host to the crème de la crème of the corporate world, top government personnel, showbiz gurus, celeb, brand owners, top models, fashionista and all credible stakeholders that matter in the industry. The grand finale is scheduled to hold on October 6th 2018, at Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Lagos.”
Declaring the registration open, Mr. Daniel Opuene, President, BAIP, said: “Registration is officially open to all young Nigerian women who are between the ages of 17 to 26 years and should visit the website.”
According to him, the Star Prize winner gets a brand new car, mouth watering cash price and wardrobe allowances for one year including a one year modelling/marketing contract and an opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Miss Tourism International 2019 World finals.
For the first Runners-Up, it is a cash prizeman, wardrobe allowance, modelling/marketing contract and an opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Miss Supranational 2019 world finals.
The second Runners-Up also gets a cash price, wardrobe allowance, a marketing/modelling contract and a chance to represent Nigeria at The Miss Globe 2019 world finals.
The third Runners-Up gets a cash prize, a modelling/marketing contract and will represent Nigeria at Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2019 finals.
, while the forth Runners-Up gets a mouth-watering prize, a modelling/marketing contract, an opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Look of the Year 2018 world finals.
Among others, the BAIP boss disclosed that a total budget of N86, 658, 304 has been projected for the event.
He said: “Screenings will take place across Nigeria. Beginning in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory on July 14th. The train moves to Edo State on July 18th. It will berth in Enugu on July 21st and hit Port Harcourt on July 25th before berthing in Lagos on July 28th.”
Mr Daniel also disclosed that the platform is being promoted as an agent of national development and peace in Nigeria and the world at large stating that the objective is to align pageantry in Nigeria with global trends, attracts investment in the entertainment industry and contribute and improve the local content of the Nigerian modelling industry.
