Popular faith-based filmmaker, Oreofe Williams, (a.k.a Awo Jesu) has said Christian movies will continue to thrive and maintain its prime place in the industry.
Williams adds that people still appreciate gospel movies, but they love inspirational movies more. But charges gospel movie producers with the need to focus their messages beyond the church.
“Most times our messages are for the church and our spectators are outside the church. I want to suggest that for more people to adopt these movies as theirs, there is a need to break that church barrier. Yes, the church will see it, but it will affect the lives of the outsiders more. It is a time we need to address social issues affecting people within and outside the confine of the church in our works,” he suggested.
Awo Jesu, as he is fondly called, promises to uphold his penchant for religious movies.
According to him, part of his plans for the New Year is to spread his works beyond the country and execute some projects, such as the ongoing construction of his film village, The City of Talents, a platform to raise and nurture new stars.
