THE International Federation of Female Lawyers FIDA and the United Action for Democracy UAD have called for justice for eight-year old Chikamso Victory, who was allegedly murdered by a 23-year-old Ifeanyichukwu Dike in Port Harcourt about two weeks ago. Antonia Osademe, Chairperson of FIDA lamented that two weeks after the escape of Dike from the custody of the Rivers State Criminal Investigation Department SCID, his whereabouts was still unknown.
“This is more than two weeks after the death of Chikamso Victory and the suspect is still out there without trace. We demand that more pro-active measures be adopted in the search of Ifeanyi Dike to ensure that late Chikamso and other unknown victims of Ifeanyi Dike get justice”, she said.
“The Child Right Law of Rivers State provides for a violent free life for every child. And not allow any act of violence against any child and not allowing these acts of violence against our children to continue,” Osademe stressed.
Meanwhile, mother of the late Chikamso, Lucy Nmezuwuba, has appealed to government and all security agencies to ensure the arrest Ifeanyi Dike.
“We want justice, let Ifeanyi come out, they know where they are keeping him, they should bring Ifeanyi out to come and face the music. He killed my daughter. He should come and follow her anywhere she is. That is what I want, let Ifeanyi come out, Ifeanyi is Victory`s uncle, he does not relate with anybody, he does not associate. He is that type of person, I, myself and myself alone”, she cried. On its part, the United Action for Democracy UAD, called on the state police command to step up investigation to unravel the circumstances that led to the escape of Ifeanyi Dike. Enefa Georgewill, South South Chairman of UAD, who gave the charge in Port Harcourt, also appealed to the police to ensure that everyone involved in the crime is punished.
