THE Kogi Central Community Development Association (KCCDA) has appealed to Kogi State government and security agents to come to the rescue of the people of the area over the rise in the killing of people in the area.
The group wanted government and security operatives to put in place urgent measures to check the rising cases of killing of targeted members of the community by yet to be identified gunmen.
According to the President of KCCDA, Comrade Musa Adinoyi Isah, in spite of the commendable efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration to ensure peace and security in the area and Kogi State in general, some undesirable elements in the community were bent on thwarting the efforts of government.
This, he said, they had been doing through the incessant killings that had become the order of the day in the area.
Isah, who described perpetrators of the act as people without conscience, urged them to have a change of heart and stop soiling the image of the area.
He also called on traditional rulers, community heads and other stakeholders from Kogi Central to rise up to the challenge and halt the disturbing development, which he described as a very dangerous trend.
The KCCDA-President, however, called on residents of the area to be security conscious at all times as well as divulging useful information to the police on matters that threaten peace and security, stressing that the policemen could not do it alone.
