Award winning, multi-talented United Kingdom based Nigerian artiste, Mathew Olatomi Alajogun, a.k.a Major Matt, who also doubles as a Nollywood actor, returns to the music scene with two new songs and videos, ‘Papi don’t go’ and ‘New King’ to serenade the ears and sight of music lovers. The visuals for the Kentee produced song, ‘Papi don’t go’ was shot in Lagos and directed by Director K Rus.
The other is a street anthem ‘New King’, also produced by Kentee and mixed by Olumix was shot in Lagos by Adasa Cookey. He is currently signed to Mataan Entertainment. The artiste, who also bagged the City People’s Revelation of the year award (actor) 2016, has been combining a strong work ethic as a musician and as an actor.
After teaming up with Samklef on two singles, ‘Baseline and Banana Love’ in 2015 which got him three nominations for the Best Pop Single, Best Recording and Best Commercial Single at the Top Naija Music Awards (TNMA) and collaborating with Dj Shabsy on another song titled ‘Jobi Okoto’ in 2016, establishing his spot on the music scene, the industrious and articulate thespian started off playing basketball, before going on to become a coach (ICMB) hopes to deliver more to showcase his God given talent.
Major Matt began his career in Manchester United. Acting from a tender age, he has enrolled at the Met Film School, London, where he is acquiring the needed knowledge to be successful in his acting career. He has featured in a couple of UK weekly TV series including the popular ‘The Red Garrote Strangler’, ‘Hunger Games’ and many others. He has also acted alongside Hollywood star actor and director, Desheiles, an experience he says, made him a better actor. He is ready to tackle challenges in making movies.
