SHEIKH Abdulkareem Abdulwahab has been turbaned as the Chief Imam of Makogi Central Mosque in Magboro, Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The installation ceremony, which took place at Makogi Primary School, also featured the decoration and presentation of awards to some individuals who have contributed to the growth of Islam in the area.
The Grand Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheikh Li-Hadi Orunsolu, represented by Alhaji AbdulWaheed Akewusola, sought the support of the Muslims in the area for the Imam.
“We are happy turbaning the Chief Imam of Makogi Central Mosque which is under the jurisdiction of the Grand Chief Imam of Egbaland. We seek continuous support for the Imam and pray for a successful tenure,” Sheikh Orunsolu said.
In a lecture, the Chief Imam of Offa, Kwara State, Sheikh Muyideen Salmon Hussein Al-Adaby, reiterated the need to spend in the way of Allah, citing Khadijat, wife of Prophet Muhammad, Abu Bakr, a companion of the Prophet and some other early Muslims who spent their wealth on the propagation of Islam.
Those who were honoured with various titles and got so decorated included Alhaji Abdulwaheed Alade, Baba Adinni; Alhaja Fatimo Amusat, Iya Sunnah; Alhaji Abdulhameed Alawaye, Borokini Adinni; Alhaji Abdulhakeem Owolabi, Aare Adini; Alhaja Mutiat Lamidi, Majekobaje Adinni and Alhaja Fatimo Yekini, Iya Adinni, all of Makogi Central Mosque.
At the event, donations were made towards the completion of the ongoing central mosque project.
