PALPABLE tension has gripped residents of Agbede Imuti and Igbo Olomu communities in Lagos and Ibafo and Arepo in Ogun states as the military on Thursday evening launched a air raid on the militant ‘ s camps .

The military plane has continued to hover around the communities, creating serious fear among the residents following fears that the militants might invade their communities.

The raid reportedly started around 6 O ‘ clock and is still ongoing as at the time of filing this report.

A resident of Igbo Oklomu, who spoke with Tribune Online, stated that many residents have started relocating from the communities for the fear of being attacked by the militants.

The resident, who simply identified himself as Sile said that the residents were apprehensive of the militants’ invasion of their homes in their bid to escape from the military onslaught.

The acting image maker in charge of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, denied being aware of the raid.

Meanwhile, the group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa has told Tribune Online, on Thursday that there was an Operation Awase going on in Ikorodu-Arapo with other security operatives now.

He said that the Air Force was involved in the air operation, while the other security operatives involved in land operation.

According to him, “this is to check pipeline vandalisation, militant activities and kidnapping in those areas.
