Women social entrepreneur in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA) have been encouraged to apply for Swedish Institute’s She Entrepreneurs 2018 programme to help them develop their own social business-initiative and acquire personal skills and innovative tools build on your knowledge of business elements, from branding to risk-taking meet other women entrepreneurs.
The call for application, opened on September 8, 2017 will close on October 4, 2017 and it is free to selected applicants.
The programme was designed to help the women inspire each other and share experiences on common challenges, emerge with a strong and active network of likeminded women who support each other in driving important changes in society, according to the institute in a statement.
To apply for the programme, women between the age of 20 and 36, that is born between 1982 and 1998 are encouraged to apply only if they are driven and have an ongoing business initiative aimed at positive social change through entrepreneurial principles.
Citizens from Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Sweden, Syria, Tunisia or Yemen are also encouraged to apply. Women who have proficient commands of both written and spoken English, as well as basic knowledge of the internet and new technologies are also encouraged to apply.
“The work on your social business must already be started and should be based and implemented in your country of citizenship or in one of the countries above,” the institute said.
Selected social entrepreneurs will receive interactive learning methods combined with reflection sessions, team-building and practical exercises; as well as study visits and meetings with inspiring social entrepreneurs.
