Music production was brought to the streets on Valentine’s Day as Blu Flames record label, held free recording sessions at Jabi Lake park in Abuja.
Visitors to the park, who were interested in making music, got their songs recorded and produced on the spot.
The singers saw the process through which music is made, with free lessons on production.
The executive producer of the label, Ebenezer Alabi told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that it was the label’s own way of giving back to the society.
According to him, upcoming artists always run away from producing because of the fees, adding that this was another opportunity for such artists to get their songs recorded free.
An artist, Gracia VaaVaa told NAN that the gesture by the label was commendable.
Vaavaa, who recorded two songs in a few hours, was grateful for the opportunity and the fun it provided.
“It makes people feel alive and increases their music vibe; It gives the opportunity to people to discover their singing abilities.
“Blu Flame records have been recording with high standards regardless of the fact that it is free,” Vaavaa said.
Clinton Emeka, another artist, recorded some freestyles, although he stumbled on the session.
“It is amazing and it is a special Valentine gift for artists to express themselves.
“It is very motivating, I have met other artists and I am showing my music skills and having fun with it as it is not in the confines of a studio,” he added.
He thanked the management of the label for the ‘good package’ and urged other music executives to reach out to more talents still on ‘the streets’.
Jeremiah ‘OJHEY’ Innocent, a co-producer told NAN that the idea of the street session is to spread love by getting people to connect with the art of making music.
The label showed visitors how digital music is made by taking them through the process, in order for them to appreciate the work.
“It’s play fun and music. The people get to see the construction from start to finish,” Innocent said.
The label also provided free photography sessions for interested visitors at the park.
