ZLP confirms Ajanaku, others as Reps candidates
THE Oyo State Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has once again confirmed Honourable Rotimi Ajanaku as the only authentic candidate for Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency.
While addressing the journalists in a media briefing held at Bodija residence of the leader of the party and a former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, the state chairman of ZLP, Comrade Wole Abisoye emphasised that only recognised candidate for the constituency is Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku.
According to Abisoye, “Ajanaku is the only person presented the flag because he has fulfilled all the conditions and the National Headquarters of the party recognized him. The National Chairman led other party executives all the way from Abuja to present him the party’s flag as the symbol of authority and recognition. No other candidate except him.”
The list of the House of Representatives candidates includes; Adeniyi Kazeem, Ibadan North, Semiu Alao, Ibadan Northeast/Southeast, Bimbo Adepoju, Iddo/ Ibarapa east, Olagbenro Adebayo, Saki West/ Saki east/ Atisbo, Abu Salami, Ogbomosho North/South/Oriire and others.
Meanwhile, Zenith Labour Party has denied the rumour making the rounds that it had formed an alliance a political party. This is contained in a statement made available to the journalists by the Chairman, Wole Abisoye. ‘I use this opportunity to debunk the unfounded fake news. Neither the party nor its leader, Senator Rashidi Ladoja was in merger talks with any political party.
Abisoye however berated the Independent National Electoral commission for issuing a statement stopping the candidates from campaigning, a week to the polls. “it is unconstitutional to stop campaign now when the law stipulates that campaign must run till 24hours to the elections,” he emphasised.
